Merry Christmas to all

First I want to begin by wishing everyone a very Blessed and Happy Christmas and I pray that 2011 will bring you many blessings. I will be thinking about each of you and praying for you tomorrow night during our parish liturgies.
I also want to comment on Sue's Blog. I have not seen the report of the CLT. Maybe it is something on the First Class that I have not read yet, so I must check that out. I hear the pain in Sue's message. I know when I first went to Ottawa, we were having a discussion about community life and I commented to Mary Carty after that my biggest fear about sisters living singlely is that I would one day find myself in community wanting to live with someone and there would be no one because all were living alone. I think you are experiencing that now Sue. I will pray for you and hopefully we will all pray for one another that we can find life-giving relationships in community wherever we are in ministy.

CLT letter

Hi everyone! A cancelled get-away this week has me with more time on my hands while at ND here in Ch'town and school is pretty quiet. Last week, a few of us in the house gathered and looked at the letter the province received after the CLT visit in October. We focused mainly on 1 or 2 paragraphs in the Community Life section, esp the paragraph with the questions. I commented that many of my peers (aka you 2020'ers) are "trying to make our living together inviting, dynamic and creative" while living singly and some while living with others.

Then this week, I learned of 2 or 3 more Sisters in Ch'town were moving into apartments. And it has left me pondering ... has anyone else had conversations about the CLT letter? about our lives together? "Pondering" is the polite word, really I was bummed, sad and disappointed.

For me, living alone would not be a healthy option at this time and I don't want t
o live alone. But it seems that our small or medium size places are the ones we are selling. So I live with 27 others, trying to have a small group that meets regularly for sharing. As Sisters choose to live singly, it limits the options for those who want to try something "inviting, dynamic and creative" with others.

Anyone want to venture into a conversation about our lives together and an understanding of community for 2020?? Just wondering ...

Free Advent Series of Talks

The Advent of Evolutionary Christianity:

Conversations at the Leading Edge of Faith.

Many of you probably know about this, but in case you don't. If you google the above title you will find the page to sign in (for free). I just listened to the second talk by Bruce Sanguin and it was amazing. Each talk is about 1 hour long and by different theologians from different traditions, but all advancing a type of Christianity that is Evolutionary and more satisfying that Intelligent Design. I am following this as my daily Advent reflection. The talks can be saved as a podcast to listen to when you are free. Enjoy! Love, Becky

Advent Waiting

Sue, you were right on with your Advent waiting comment! I had two messages from the neurologist's office yesterday - one from the secretary telling me I had appointment with the neurologist on the morning of the 15th (two weeks away) and the other from the neurologist telling me that my results were in and that she told her secretary to make an appointment for me as soon as possible. She said she would discuss the results with me then and what to do next. Absolutely no hint in the message of what the results are... "Another two weeks to wait" was my first reaction and then it occurred to me that it was a waiting season and that helped me find some peace. Since then someone told me that the waiting period to see a neurologist in Fredericton is 18 months so I guess two weeks more is not so bad after all.... I will keep you posted. Happy waiting to each of you for all that you may be awaiting. Becky, be assured of prayers as you head into your meeting!

Hey there!

Hi everyone,
Checking our blog and seeing our collages nudged me to dig mine out again! When I first got back it was on my prayer table but gradually got covered with other "treasures". I like it ... I smile when I look at the sports bras and think of each one of you as supporting me and hopefully me supporting you! Ice cream helps me smile also - even through the scowling (sp?) moments in the opposite corner! Becky I think your meeting is this week, or was it last week? Karen awaiting results sounds kinda Advent-y! Just wanted to "drop in" and say "hey!"
Blessings!
Sue

Hello Sisters of 20/20. It is good to be able to meet here and have a conversation. Thanks for setting this up Maco. I am having the same problem with profile pictures being too large. Strange as they aren't that big as files. Becky

I am on

Maco and all, I am in also so it looks like we are coming on one by one. Great to have this to send important bits of information. I still have to get a picture of myself on. The ones I tried are too big, so will have to take a picture of myself. Thanks again Maco for all your work. We are all on a big learning curve.

Me too!

I found the invitation (hidden in my inbox) and am now in too! Thanks Maco for creating this! I look forward to the connection.

Yeah!

I am in also - thanks Maco! I am glad to have this venue for us to connect as I am feeling some significant decisions may be coming along in the next weeks aad months. I feel a need for connectin in ways I neve knew before - might it be mid-life? Blessings everyine!! Sue

Finally in!

Thanks Maco for setting this up and persisting until it works. I look forward to postings and responses; some very important issues have been raised during and since our meeting.

Yea!

For those wanting to post, on the top blue bar, click on "post". That should get you in...
Dear Sisters,

Here is our blog.... It is a work in progress. While pulling it together, it helped me to reflect on what we had done during that weekend and how we bonded in a new way. I invite us to take some time to "blog" and dream. May our vision continue to evolve... May Marguerite be an inspiration. may the little flowers in the little garden plot take root and grow....
Blessed be!

Maco
