"It is possible to prepare for the future without knowing what it will be. The primary way to prepare for the unknown is to attend to the quality of our relationships - to how well we will know and trust each other." Margaret Wheatley

Merry Christmas to all
I also want to comment on Sue's Blog. I have not seen the report of the CLT. Maybe it is something on the First Class that I have not read yet, so I must check that out. I hear the pain in Sue's message. I know when I first went to Ottawa, we were having a discussion about community life and I commented to Mary Carty after that my biggest fear about sisters living singlely is that I would one day find myself in community wanting to live with someone and there would be no one because all were living alone. I think you are experiencing that now Sue. I will pray for you and hopefully we will all pray for one another that we can find life-giving relationships in community wherever we are in ministy.

CLT letter
Then this week, I learned of 2 or 3 more Sisters in Ch'town were moving into apartments. And it has left me pondering ... has anyone else had conversations about the CLT letter? about our lives together? "Pondering" is the polite word, really I was bummed, sad and disappointed.
For me, living alone would not be a healthy option at this time and I don't want to live alone. But it seems that our small or medium size places are the ones we are selling. So I live with 27 others, trying to have a small group that meets regularly for sharing. As Sisters choose to live singly, it limits the options for those who want to try something "inviting, dynamic and creative" with others.
Anyone want to venture into a conversation about our lives together and an understanding of community for 2020?? Just wondering ...

Free Advent Series of Talks
The Advent of Evolutionary Christianity:
Conversations at the Leading Edge of Faith.
Many of you probably know about this, but in case you don't. If you google the above title you will find the page to sign in (for free). I just listened to the second talk by Bruce Sanguin and it was amazing. Each talk is about 1 hour long and by different theologians from different traditions, but all advancing a type of Christianity that is Evolutionary and more satisfying that Intelligent Design. I am following this as my daily Advent reflection. The talks can be saved as a podcast to listen to when you are free. Enjoy! Love, Becky

Advent Waiting
Wednesday, December 1, 2010
Hey there!
Checking our blog and seeing our collages nudged me to dig mine out again! When I first got back it was on my prayer table but gradually got covered with other "treasures". I like it ... I smile when I look at the sports bras and think of each one of you as supporting me and hopefully me supporting you! Ice cream helps me smile also - even through the scowling (sp?) moments in the opposite corner! Becky I think your meeting is this week, or was it last week? Karen awaiting results sounds kinda Advent-y! Just wanted to "drop in" and say "hey!"
Blessings!
Sue
